Doc , Age 16

The little dog in this photo was our beloved Doctor Bob, who came to live with us in February a couple of years ago. He had had a pretty tough time of it and we have tried to make him as comfortable as possible since then. He left us yesterday with hearts heavy, but knowing he is going on to a place where there is no pain, age or harm. We, and all who knew our precious little Doc, will miss him terribly. We thank the gentle loving care he received from Dr. Mike Dobesch and Dr. Julie Blossom and all the folks at Smith Veterinary Clinic.  We are comforted by the transition of Doc, here on earth to "Rainbow Bridge." Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Dodger , Age 18

Dodger was one heck of a dog! From the day we took him from the shelter, he came right to Smith Vet where he was immediately admitted and spent the first week of his life as our dog! Throughout his 18 years, he showed such tenacity and perseverance. He was trampled by a horse, attacked by a coyote, and stricken by vestibular twice! But he never gave up. Even on his last day, when the special vet came to our home to relieve him of his worn out body, he tried to raise himself and give a final warning bark. Dodger is sorely missed.

Dr. Robert , Age 9

Dr. Robert was the oldest, the alpha of the pack, a particularly outstanding companion, soulmate, and compassionate friend. 

Feather , Age 13

Pure Maine coon, pure love, pure ditz.  The most beautiful outside and inside ever, truly a super-model.  A featherbrain, didn't like to eat (just like a supermodel), and the sweetest girl ever.  Missing you.

Jackson (Jackie, Mr. Jackson), was a very kind, handsome and loving dog who had a wonderful life. He was not only a pet but a family member to Cara Bonita, my dog, and I. We both miss him very much. He passed away very peacefully in my arms. I will always remember what a joy he was to everyone he met.
